Of course we have cats and kittens available for adoption all the time. Many of you come to PetSmart to look at our kitties, admire their beauty and playfulness, and (sometimes) adopt them.
What makes this week so special, then?
This week is PetSmart Charities' National Adoption Event! This means that we get extra credit for every adoption that happens, which will mean a larger grant from PetSmart Charities when we reach certain adoption thresholds. And that's more money for us to help you folks get your animals fixed!
What does it mean for potential adopters?
It means that in addition to our regular adoption area in the back of the store, and the kitties we have there, we will also be bringing in more kitties (and adorable kittens!) on Friday and Saturday this week. We will have extra kitties available in the aisle, and people to help you pick them, on Friday afternoon and all day Saturday.
Kitten season is in full sway! We want to remind all of you that our primary mission is help folks get their animals fixed! If you need to schedule a spay or neuter appointment for your cat or kittens, please call 740-221-7278, and leave a message.
Without a facility, our ability to help folks re-home their cats is extremely limited. Right now, all of our fosters are full, and many of them have young mothers with litters of kittens. All of those cats should eventually make their way to PetSmart, or to the Chatty Cat cafe -- as cats find new homes, we have plenty of cats to fill their places!
If there is a particular breed of cat you are interested in, do let us know -- we might have one waiting to get fixed that could fit your need. Every day we have volunteers taking short shifts at PetSmart to tend to the kitties, and when our volunteers are not there, PetSmart employees can take messages for us, and they can help you if you want to adopt a kitty, too.
